I have used 4 irrigation companies over 18 years, H30 being the last and the only one I will use in the future. Several years ago my sprinkler head type and arrangement was made more efficient by H30 for a very reasonable price. Recently my 18 year old system controller box needed to be replaced-no digital readout at all- and a modern one was installed for a reasonable price. And to top it off every sprinkler head was look at and any that were not performing or were over spraying were adjusted. I feel that I now have a new system thanks to H30. - Alice Vida

Here at H3O we are always trying to keep up with the most current innovations in the irrigation community. New technologies are being used to promote greener watering systems and in help American families save a little more at the watering hole.

For the next four weeks our team is going to give an in-depth look at some groundbreaking drip irrigation system that we are very excited about. We will have four topics that we hope will give you a better understanding of what KISSS and other drip irrigation products have to offer and how this new irrigation technology can regulate your water consumption and help save you money.

The topics are:

What is a Drip Irrigation system?
Why and where should you use Drip Irrigation?
How Drip Irrigation is installed for commercial and residential clients?
How will Drip Irrigation reduce Costs & Save water?

The national weather station is predicting that North America is headed into another ten years of rough droughts and with that will come harsh water restrictions. Currently cities are looking into finding ways to eliminate standard spray irrigations systems. With these restrictions comes a public outcry and often you see the news stations catching residents watering their driveways or the roads while the city is supposed to be trying to retain as much water as possible. This month we will be shedding some light on what subsurface drip irrigation systems can do to overcome these issues and achieve the most effective way of watering landscapes and preserving the water table.

This technology has made is possible for business and homeowners to create custom landscapes and keep them looking healthy all year and during some of the driest times. With having a system that is virtually invisible and that can be run anytime of day, we here at H3O believe that Drip Irrigation Systems are a greener way of irrigating your landscapes and reducing your maintenance and water costs. Please join us every week to explore the possibilities of greener irrigation technologies.

Rain, we need it badly and then we wish it would go away. Pool owners we feel your pain. The flash floods that occurred earlier this month here in Texas have left some pools looking a bit like a swampy marshland but fortunately we can offer a solution.

Rain causes many changes to the waters chemistry. The biggest issues are the way the water makes your skin feel after a swim and of course how safe it is to even swim in your pool after a rain. Although some issues can take weeks to present themselves, after a good rain your waters balance is beginning to change.

When your pH and TA change you pool quickly becomes unsanitary and can cause irritation to your eyes and allergies as well as your skin. We want to address this issue this week since Mother Nature has brought us some much needed rain and possibly caused you some irritation.

Almost as soon as the rain falls and hits your pool the pH begins to rise while rapidly bringing down the TA. For those who may not know, pH is the Potential Hydrogen in your water and TA is the Total Alkalinity in the water, both are natural and both can be stabilized with proper pool treatments. As the pH climbs the chlorine content in the water become sleepy or inactive causing it to be less effective per gallon of water in your pool. Rainwater is a blessing but to your pool it is a burden that if left neglected can cause your pool to become destabilized and your skin irritated.

When chlorine is added to your pool it is meant to be a super hero to the water. Chlorine’s main objective is to kill germs! While this super hero chemical is trying to do its job, when the pH goes up the super hero’s powers declines. Low pH=Strong Chlorine!

Hopefully Mother Nature isn’t too mean and the chlorine can continue to keep the pool safe and clean, but if any discomfort arises we know that the pH isn’t between 7.2 and 7.8. Those numbers are a safe range for swimmers comfort both on the skin and the eyes, if it dips below or is above 7.8 the chlorine isn’t effectively doing its job. To keep our pool safe after a rain, always check our pH and TA levels before a swim.

When the germs fall from the sky and muddy up the pool, give us a call and we will get your water safe to swim in for you and your family!

We have reached the conclusion to our mini series on drip irrigation systems and we hope you have been able to take something away that you may not have known.

I’m sure over the last five weeks a question has come up over and over again – “Is a drip irrigation system right for me?” Let me ask you this: Does your yard or garden get water by a sprinkler? Do you use a hose to water your trees or plants? If you answer yes to either of these two questions, then a drip irrigation system is a right fit for you!

We have given all the tools and knowledge necessary to hopefully help you in making a great decision that will help benefit your family to come. With the South Texas heat and the lack of rain we have seen this last couple of weeks, we hope that you will make the switch with us. Saving our resources and making water last a few years longer is a goal of ours here at H3O, and we hope with this series it has become important to you as well.

From our family to yours we invite you to give us a call and have one of our certified technicians come out and give your property a fast and professional estimate.

Just a few quick reminds of the advantages of drip irrigation systems:

Plants are watered at the roots
No more over watering or evaporated wastes

All of your landscape is watered evenly

You control the amount of water used

Saves WATER and MONEY

If you or your company is ready to make the switch, we are ready to create a custom drip irrigation system!

Give us a call today, we promise you won’t be disappointed.

Drip irrigation has a very special place in all of our hearts, not only because it is efficient, but also because a drip irrigation system can save A LOT of money on your water bill!

The United States and our sister country Canada have had extensive studies completed about out usage of water and the impact it has had on our wallets and our environment. According to the latest studies, the average American and Canadian homes use roughly 350-500 gallons of water per day. When the math is done that is between 140-175,000 gallons a year, putting the US and Canada ranked at number one for must water consumption in the WORLD. Our water is precious and here and H30 we understand the impact of this number, and stand behind the tips and benefits of a drip irrigation system.

Most people use overhead sprinkler systems or hand hoses, wasting twice as much water than needed for their gardens and yards. Today in my house our bill showed that we used roughly 190 gallons of water inside and almost 300 gallons outside. Those 300 gallons on my yard and tomatoes plants could be cut in half if my landlord would install a drip irrigation system.

The savings are all in the investment. If you look at your water bill and read the GPM (gallon per month) chart and then look at the rate per gallon, divide the gallons per month buy how much you are spending, you will see a rough estimate of what you are spending daily. Imagine that number split into half. That is the number that you could be spending with a drip irrigation systems. I would give straight figures but all watering systems are different and my bill will be different from yours, but I can tell you that my bill would decrease $150.00. The investment is the biggest leap of faith. A drip irrigation system can be installed for anywhere between $400.00 and up, all dependent on style, times, and emitters.

Our drip irrigation customers have reported having their systems for nearly 10 years before having to replace parts. Having a system that could run for 10 years without parts being ordered or heads being replaced will quickly pay for itself with the money saved at your monthly statement.

Along with savings in your wallet, you are also adding resources to our next generation by saving fresh water for generations to come. Give us a call today and let us help you help our future.

Residential drip irrigation systems can be a large project or a very small project. From flowerbeds to front and back yards our team is ready to install a irrigation system that will require low maintenance and bring ease of mind that all of your landscape will be healthy and lush.

Drip irrigation systems work in zones, just like most sprinkler head systems. When our technicians come to your place of residence or business, we will discuss your needs for watering zones. Within these zones the system will be laid on higher ground and low points. These locations are contingent on the soil your land has and the type of irrigation that will be going on. We will survey all of your watering zone options and discuss the best plan for your specific needs.

The irrigation system is made up of five parts:
Pump Unit
Control Head
Main and Submain Lines
Laterals
Emitters or Drippers

These parts control the watering system from pressure and the pump down to the amount of water that is being released at the root. Remember, drip irrigation systems only water at the root zones and never lose water to above ground evaporation from the sun. This type of system is permanent and a placed below ground. If you’re not looking for a permanent solution and only seasonal solutions please discuss that with us as well. We’ll find the best solution for your watering needs.

As we grow into a more “green” country and our water conservation efforts begin to soar, drip irrigation is a great solution to keeping your lawn green while being “green.” Drip irrigation will do all of this plus SAVE YOU MONEY! Call us today for a quote and irrigation plan!

Last time we talked about why we should be using the drip irrigation system and the advantages it brings once installed. Today we are going to discuss where we should place the irrigation system.

At the end of last weeks segment we briefly talked about the versatility of drip irrigation systems and how easy it is to incorporate into your commercial or residential landscape. When we say that this technology can be placed anywhere, we really mean it. Yards and landscapes come in all shapes and sizes. It doesn’t matter if the size is an 50 foot oval or a 3 acre multifunctional spread, the drip irrigation systems can be manipulated in hundreds of different ways.

Hopefully by now you’re starting to ask yourself, “How can I get my own drip irrigation system?” The answer is right here at H30. Our certified irrigation team is ready to build your worry free drip irrigation system. No matter the size or shape or your lawn, our team has you covered.

Living in South Texas many people have the thoughts running through their minds that the ground is too hard or the droughts will cause issues to an underground drip irrigation system, breaking pipes or causing leaks. We want to assure that is false. The plastic used in the technology is super heavy duty and coated in a double black coating that keeps harmful UV rays out. It is so strong it will even withstand the harsh South Texas climate. Rain or shine, drought or flood H30 can install the best drip irrigation system for your landscaping needs.

Don’t be shy when it comes to any questions you may have. Give us a call and one of our team members will be happy to set up an appointment to go over any and everything there is to know about drip irrigation!
